The Rainbow House

We built this 1100 square foot new home for an adventurous young couple and their dog. Situated on helical piers, the Rainbow House is south facing and solar ready. Energy efficient homes cost on average 35% less to heat and operate, and this home is no exception. Rated at six stars with an overall energy rating of 98.5, The Rainbow House has a very low operating cost.

In the living room, a Tulikivi masonry heater provides warmth and comfort, as well as in-floor radiant heat throughout the home. 

We worked with our client to design custom birch built-in shelving and even a specially designed couch with storage underneath.

More custom birch built-in cabinets make for ample storage in the bedroom — plenty of space for clothes (and hiking gear, and more!) for two people.
